Each student picks a character on day one. The points they earn for real reasons fill levels, and every level-up changes the character one stage. It all runs on the class screen, with no student devices or accounts.

KazeStudents pick one on day one, and the roster keeps growing.
Each student climbs the same ladder inside a rank, from level 0 to level 10. Every level-up evolves the character one stage, so one rank is ten evolutions.
Level 10 is not the end. The student ranks up, takes a crown on their card and starts the ladder again at the next rank. Every rank raises the cost of each level and pays out more skill points, and ranks are not capped.
At rank 0 a level costs 15 points at level 1, rising by 5 a level to 60 at level 10. Each further rank adds 5 points to every level. Levels also pay out skill points, which students spend in a skill tree.
The points come from the reasons you set, one tap at a time (how to set up the points), and the same points power the whole-class games (a boss battle on one screen).
The top-3 badges and sorting by level switch off, and last names can be hidden. Points and level stay on each student's card.
