Meet the new Umi

She celebrates with the class

When a student levels up, Umi throws a little party and dances. A rank-up gets a bigger dance, and a beaten boss gets a victory dance, a different one each time. She also reacts when a student earns an achievement, when a race finishes, when a boss escapes and when Happy Day starts.

She waits until the screen is clear, so her moment never covers a level-up or a boss screen. If a few things happen at once, she plays the biggest one.

She notices the small things too

A quick run of points cheers her up. If you take away more than five points at once, she gets scared, and if the same child gets points twice in a row, she laughs. She shivers when you freeze a student. When a new student joins the class she waves hello, and when one leaves she waves goodbye with a tear.

She reacts to the students' skills as well. A Penalty Shield that blocks a bad mark makes her proud, a lucky Joker surprises her, and Rising Tide sends a wave that washes right over her.

If nothing happens for a few minutes, she gets bored, then sleepy, and falls asleep. Tap her and she wakes up.

She runs more of the board

Ask her to start a Boss Hunt, a race, Squad Legends, a Challenge or a Versus fight. If something is missing, like which boss or how long, she asks with buttons in her bubble, one question at a time.

She can spin the wheel, roll the dice and flip the coin on the board. She also makes groups, runs the timer, switches on Happy Day, freezes a student, writes a note about a child and tells you who has not had a point this week.

Talk to her out loud

1. Hold Space

   On the class screen, hold down the Space bar. Umi opens and starts listening. You can also tap the microphone in her bubble.

2. Say what you need

   For example "two points for everyone who is here" or "start a Boss Hunt". Your words appear in her bubble while you speak.

3. Let go

   When you let go of Space, Umi gets the request.

She listens in the language your Learnify is set to, in Chrome, Edge and Safari. Firefox has no speech recognition, so there you type to her.

What waits for your tap

Giving points, marking attendance and adding a student happen straight away, and Umi leaves a note in her bubble for each one. She waits for your tap before she moves students to another class, resets or deletes anything, finishes a race or Squad Legends, or calls off a Boss Hunt.

Can I switch her off?

Yes: in the gear menu, open Display and turn off Umi assistant. The setting is kept on that device.
